In a letter from Dr. J.M. MacCallum to Miss A.L. Beatty, Art Gallery of Toronto, 14 May 1937, Dr. MacCallum wrote that the sketch was done at Lake Cauchon. “Thomson, myself, Lorne Harris and his cousin Chester were up there,” Edward P.
