Remarks

The work appears in the installation photograph of Southam 44 (Library and Archives, National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa). An earlier title is Tree Fallen into Water (Art Gallery of Ontario slide). On a National Gallery of Canada Out Order dated 30 March 1947, an Algonquin Park was sent from Southam’s collection to Laing.
