Remarks

The sketch was cleaned by Eduard Zukowski of the Art Gallery of Ontario in preparation for the Thomson show in 1971. Doris Spiers was convinced that Mr. Zukowski cleaned away a line of wild geese or ducks in the sky. Mr. Zukowski thought they were scratches. If there was a flight of geese or ducks in the sky, Thomson would have painted the sketch during the autumn.
